Next Generation Toyota Prius

The next generation Toyota Prius could be coming with a Turbo Diesel. The new Prius is rumored to be turbocharged. Its doubtful they would turbo a gasoline engine in a economy car, so a lot of people think Toyota will be going with a Diesel engine, co-developed by Isuzu. Toyota wants the next Prius to be bigger, better, and even more ground breaking then the first one. With a Diesel engine instead of gasoline, the Prius could get the best of both worlds of fuel efficient driving, as Hybrids do best in city driving, and Diesels do best in open road driving. Some people think that the Prius is too small for them, or their family. With the
increased size of the car, it should fit most people’s needs. With a Diesel-Hybrid system the next Prius could get into the 70mpg range. The pictures I’m using for this entry are from the Prius HybridX concept car. While the new Prius might not look 100% like this, I think they might use some of the design features we see in this concept. I would expect the new Prius to look like the old one but bigger and some styling updates. Something I think would be smart for Toyota to do is make the Hybrid engines interchangeable in other popular Toyota cars like the Corolla and Camry. Cause lets face it not everyone likes the Prius body style. People like to have a choice when they are laying down the cash for a car.
